what to use dwarf car panels ?

Hi, I need to fabricate a body for an old dwarf car.
Would anybody be kind enough to tell me what to use and the the thickness please ?
I'm looking at .55mm aluminum sheet, is this to thin ?
    Thanks

I believe 22 gauge is the standard, not sure how that crosses into mm. I never used aluminum. Too costly, plus if it doesn't already have primer on it you need that and it is different from regular primer. Special paint is required on true aluminum that is costly. That's why an airplane costs so much to paint.

I buy painted alum for 50 to 70 dollars a sheet so no need to paint about a sheet and a half will do a pro chassis car

Thankyou for your help. It is an early PRO chassis car.

.040 is pretty much the standard for all dirt cars that use fabricated bodies. try a local steel supplier or a sign shop for the painted sheets
